Lewis Structures

Tips for drawing Lewis dot structures

• Count valence electrons from each atom

• Place central atom (usually least electronegative)

• Connect with single bonds first

• Distribute remaining electrons as lone pairs

pH Calculator

Calculate pH, pOH, and ion concentration

About ChemSuite

What is ChemSuite?

ChemSuite is an interactive chemistry platform designed to make abstract chemistry concepts tangible and engaging. Combining a powerful periodic table explorer with a molecular builder, ChemSuite brings chemistry to life through hands-on visualization and experimentation.

Who is it for?

ChemSuite is built for:

  • K-12 Chemistry Students — Visualize elements, build molecules, explore periodic trends
  • High School Teachers — Integrate interactive tools into your curriculum
  • AP Chemistry Students — Master concepts with 8+ specialized chemistry calculators
  • Curious Learners — Explore the periodic table and molecular structures freely

Key Features

Interactive Periodic Table

Explore 118 elements with detailed properties, trends, and electron configurations.

Molecular Builder

Drag atoms together to build molecules and watch bonds form automatically.

Chemistry Tools

VSEPR, Lewis structures, gas laws, pH calculations, bond polarity, and more.

110M+ Molecular Database

Access millions of molecular structures and properties.

How Teachers Use ChemSuite

  • Visualize abstract concepts — Make bonding, geometry, and trends visible
  • Engage students in 15-min activities — Perfect for class starters or review
  • Reduce misconceptions — See what's happening at the molecular level
  • Supports Q3 curriculum — Aligns with periodic trends, bonding, and structure topics

Built For Learning

ChemSuite is a project built by a high school student to demonstrate that chemistry learning doesn't have to be passive memorization. By combining PhET's interactivity with practical tools teachers actually need, ChemSuite proves that students can build meaningful educational tools.

Get In Touch

Have feedback? Found a bug? Want to integrate ChemSuite into your classroom? We'd love to hear from you.

What we'd like to know:

  • How did you use ChemSuite? (classroom, homework, exploration)
  • What worked well? Which features were most helpful?
  • What could be better? Missing features or bugs?
  • Would you recommend it? Teachers especially — how could we help your curriculum?

About This Project

ChemSuite was built by Ky'lin Spears, a high school student passionate about chemistry education and proving that students can build meaningful software.

This is more than just an app — it's proof that a high schooler can create something that changes how students learn chemistry, that integrates into real classrooms, and that district administrators actually want to adopt.
